Next up... Math1/3 This week we will finish up our sequencing lessons. We will start to learn how sequencing figures with rigid transformations also preserves angle measures and lengths. After completing the sequence lessons we will take a short mini quiz on sequencing with all three of the transformations, rotation, reflection and translation. Once the mini quiz is complete we will move onto how rigid motions relate to figure and image concurrency and then into different types of angles. This week we should complete about 4 lessons leaving us with about two lessons until the end of this module. I am looking for us to take our end of the module assessment at the beginning of November. Math2 Last week we wrapped up our lessons on sequencing translation. Friday we did a fun activity in class "Rigid Motion in Motion" look for the video later this week. The vocabulary quiz for the first part of the unit was given last week as well and the students did very well on it. This week we are going to "Translate" into the second part of the module focusing on how the rigid motions relate to congruency and then we will go into the different types of angles as well. We should be finishing up this module and testing within the next week to week in a half, I'm planning for the end of Module test to be around the beginning of November. Schoology homework is proving to be a success, students are doing very well with it. Upcoming Events: 10/22 Field Trip to Poly-Tech 10/26 $2 N.U.T Day 10/31 Happy Halloween

Just a friendly reminder a syllabus went home at the begging of the year about my classroom expectations and policies. If students want to do a retake or test corrections they must follow the guidelines spelled out in my syllabus.
" If a student scores an 84 or below (this correlates to a “C+”) on any Module Assessment, he/she will have the opportunity to complete test corrections. Test corrections must be done one student’s time, on a separate sheet of paper and signed by a parent/guardian and returned within a week after receiving the graded assessment. If a student wishes to retake an assessment this must be done within a week of receiving the failed assessment. It is highly suggested that the student make arrangements to stay after school to complete this so that it can be done in one session. If student is retaking an assessment they must let Ms. Feddiman know immediately, fill out a test retake form and have it signed by a parent." Train your mind to see the good in EVERY situation!
Hello All!! Previous Week Recap Last week we started Module 2 in all 8th grade classes. All of the classes got through the identifying of the rigid motions, Translation, Rotation and Reflection. We took notes on all three and made a fold-able to go into our notebooks as well, you can see some of the student work below this post. THIS WEEK.............................. Math 1: This week we will continue to work in Module 2. We are already done with about 5 lesson, almost our half way point. This week we will start to get into the sequencing of the rigid motions. I am hoping to get through about 3-4 lessons this week and maybe dive into the numbers of the module. Last week we completed a POP quiz and the students did very well. We will have a vocabulary quiz this week as well. Math 2: We are going to continue to work in Module 2. We are going to complete a small in class project on rigid motion which we started on Friday and will continue in class on Monday and Finish up the first half of Tuesdays class. This week we will also dive into sequencing of the three rigid transformations and maybe touch on the various types of angles. M 3: This week we will continue to work in Module 2. We are already done with about 5 lesson, almost our half way point. This week we will start to get into the sequencing of the rigid motions. I am hoping to get through about 3-4 lessons this week and maybe dive into the numbers of the module. Last week we completed a POP quiz and the students did very well. Hello All!! Previous Week Recap Last week we started Module to in all 8th grade classes. I informed the students they will need to be studying the vocabulary for this Module as there are no numbers introduced until the 8/9 lesson. So they need to know the vocabulary in order to understand the lessons. THIS WEEK.............................. Math 1: This week we started our Module 2. We have began working on Rigid Motion and have learned TranSLation and ReFLection so far. With this module there comes a lot of new vocabulary that we have written in our math journals and students need to study them nightly, I ask them at the beginning of each class what the words mean to keep them fresh in their memory. This week we will jump into RoTation as it is our last rigid motions. So far the students have been doing well with this new module. Homework is getting better and better with each night. I understand students forget sometimes but they need to make sure they are getting this done. Math 2: Monday we finished our Module 1 end test and begin working on Module 2. Module 1 test were passed back on Friday. If students are making corrections or having a retake this must be completed by Friday 10/12 or the grade is going to stand. As the syllabus states they have 5 days to get this done. If students are doing a retake they must fill out a form and have it signed by parent or guardian. If they are doing a corrections they must have this completed by next Friday as well and need a parent signature. Module 2 focuses on a lot of new vocabulary so they must study these nightly. This week we got to the first rigid motion TranSLation and next week we are going to do the other two ReFLection and RoTation. We will be completing an assessment on the vocabulary next week as well! Math 3: Monday we finished our Module 1 end test and begin working on Module 2. Module 1 test were passed back on Friday. Last week we started our everyday homework assignments and the students did very, very well on them. The assignments are done through the Schoology app which can be downloaded to their smart phones. Each night I post a discussion question from the lesson from the day and students answer it. Once they answer the question they can view other students responses and give feedback. This week the students did so well with it and I was very happen they seemed to enjoy it. THIS WEEK.............................. Math 1: This week we practice some more word problems with scientific notation and take our end of the module test on Tuesday/Wednesday. Thursday and Friday we will begin our next Module, Module 2 on Rigid Transformations. My hopes are to get through 2-3 lessons in Module 2 this week. Math 2: Monday we will finish our Module 1 end test and begin working on Module 2. We start each lesson with math notes and then we break into our station work. Stations typically are activities and games that build on the concepts and skills from the lesson. I am hoping to get through Lessons 1-3 this week, I try to do 1 lesson per day. Math 3: This week we will practice some more word problems with scientific notation and take our end of the module test on Tuesday/Wednesday.
